Privacy policy

Last updated: July 26, 2026

AudioRemote is a remote music collaboration platform. This policy describes what we collect when you use it, why we collect it, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect what the service needs to run, we do not sell your data, and your audio and video are not recorded by us.

Data we collect

  • Account data. Your name, email address, and password hash when you create an account.
  • Profile data. A display name, an optional avatar, and the network connections and crews you choose to build.
  • Session metadata. Session titles, participants, invitations, and timestamps. This is the information needed to show your dashboard and let hosts control admission. This is metadata about sessions, not their content.
  • Files you upload. Masters, stems, session files, and anything else you place in your Drive, stored so you can access and share it.
  • Product and reliability data. Page categories, feature usage, browser and device type, performance measurements, errors, and numeric realtime-audio health signals such as reconnects, buffer underruns, packet gaps, and resyncs. We do not send session names, links, invitation tokens, chat text, filenames, or streamed media in analytics events.

Audio and video

Live audio and video are transmitted through realtime infrastructure to the other participants in your session. They are not recorded or stored by AudioRemote unless a participant explicitly records the session.

Analytics and session replay

We use PostHog to understand whether product flows work, diagnose application errors, measure web performance, and improve realtime-audio reliability. Session replay is configured to mask all text and form inputs and to block audio, video, canvas, and other private elements before data leaves your device. Network bodies, headers, console logs, and canvas content are not recorded. Browser and desktop analytics do not set an analytics cookie. They store a pseudonymous device and session identifier in local browser or application storage so events and masked replays from one product session can be connected. Signed-in activity is associated with your internal account ID so we can measure active users and cross-device product reliability without sending your name or email as an analytics profile property.

How we use data

We use the data above to operate the service: authenticating you, running sessions, showing presence to your network, storing and sharing your files, and providing support. We do not sell personal data and we do not use your files or session content for advertising or to train models.

Third parties

We rely on a small set of infrastructure providers to run AudioRemote: hosting providers that run our servers, realtime media providers that carry session audio and video, storage providers that hold Drive files, and PostHog for product analytics and error diagnostics. Each processes data only as needed to provide their service to us, under contractual data-protection obligations.

Retention

Account and profile data are kept while your account is active. Session metadata is kept so your session history works; you can delete sessions from your dashboard at any time. Drive files are kept until you delete them. Backups expire on a rolling schedule after deletion.

Deletion

You can delete individual sessions and files inside the product. To delete your account and all associated data, contact us at privacy@audioremote.app. We complete deletion requests within 30 days.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will notify you by email or inside the product before the change takes effect.
